There are mobile games whose price is surprising, but what we had never seen in the Play Store was a game that costs the same as its console version. This is the case with the new release from Square Enix, the company that has developed franchises of relevant interest such as Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts. SaGa Emerald Beyond is the recently released video game of the JRPG genre that wants to conquer everyone for its story, although the popularity of its version for smartphones is complicated.

Square Enix is one of the most active video game companies when it comes to mobile phone games. Proof of this is that under its seal it has many installments, from the original Final Fantasy VII or a spin-off of the NieR saga to the mythical Chrono Trigger or the almost complete Dragon Quest saga.

It is true that some of its releases did not succeed, as is the case of the battle royale known as Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, although this was perhaps due to the saturation of the genre along with gameplay that did not quite gel.

Now the launch of SaGa Emerald Beyond is ahead and we cannot rule out that the mobile version of the Square Enix game will end up dropping in price sooner rather than later or who knows if something else… This new game in the franchise is a JRPG of turn-based combat and strategy with very interesting mechanics to tell the truth and that easily attracts the attention of lovers of the genre; However, its biggest problem is its price, since the company has decided to establish the same price of 53.40 USD for the console, PC and smartphone versions.

Are you willing to pay that much for a mobile game?

SaGa Emerald Beyond is receiving very good reviews in the analysis of the different media, with an average score of 8 points out of 10. The player immerses himself in the story of different characters, each with their origins, while making decisions that influence the development of the story, thus defining a unique experience for each player. This, together with the turn-based combat mechanics, the very marked JRPG style, and the impressive number of combat movements and races will allow you to enter a fantasy world, but is it worth paying 50 euros for a mobile game?

The new Square Enix game can also be purchased on the following platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The mobile version of SaGa Emerald Beyond guarantees greater accessibility to play from wherever you want, but if you have one of the previous platforms you shouldn’t think about it too much.

From your Nintendo Switch, you can play comfortably portable, while with a PC or PlayStation, you will take more advantage of the game’s graphics. It never hurts to have a completely faithful version that is not a mere adaptation on smartphones, although, for the same price as the console or Steam edition, it seems almost impossible for someone to opt for this alternative.
